Hyperprice 101
How a Hyperprice position works. Open UP or DOWN, close early to manage risk, and see how same-side trades average on My Positions versus each fill on desktop.
A Hyperprice position is a live UP or DOWN buy in the current round. You open at the share price on screen. You can hold to the timer, or close early if the cents move and you want to manage risk.
This page is about positions. For why Hyperprice exists, see Why Hyperprice. For the tap-by-tap flow, see Place a trade.
Open a position
Sign in, pick a listed market and duration, set a USD stake, then tap UP or DOWN.
That tap buys shares at the live cents for that side. Each tap is its own trade, with its own stake and bought cents. You can open more than one trade in the same round, including the other side.
If a side is at 0¢ or 100¢, that entry may be unavailable.
Share prices and control
Share prices change while the round is live. Your bought cents do not change. Live P&L is the current quote versus what you paid.
That is what gives you control. If the cents move against you, you can cut the position. If they move with you, you can take the move before expiry. You do not have to wait for the round to close.
Close early
While the round is still live, Close sells at the current UP or DOWN quote for that side. You receive that quote, minus the early-exit fee. You do not wait for the $1 / $0 expiry result.
Use this to manage risk: trim a loser, lock a winner, or leave the round. If you hold until the clock hits zero, settlement pays instead. Details: Early exit.
Close is unavailable if that side is quoted at 0¢.
Same side on the same market
My Positions (under the chart) groups trades that share all of these:
- the same market
- the same duration
- the same live round
- the same side (all UP, or all DOWN)
That group is one row. The row shows:
- a weighted average of the share prices you paid
- combined stake and combined shares
- combined P&L across every trade in the group
A second UP buy on the same live market does not sit as a second My Positions row. It updates that row’s average and totals.
UP and DOWN stay separate rows. A new round is a new group. A different market or duration is a different group.
Close on a grouped My Positions row closes every trade in that group at the same current quote. Either the whole group closes, or none of it does.
Desktop and phone
The trade screen is not identical on a wide display and on a phone.
Desktop (laptop and up): the chart is on the left. The trade panel is on the right. Under the panel, Active Trades lists each trade on its own card. Each card keeps that fill’s stake, bought cents, countdown, and its own Close. You can close one trade on that market without closing the others. My Positions under the chart still shows the averaged group for the same side.
Phone: Active Trades is hidden so the panel stays compact. You manage open risk from My Positions under the chart. Same-side fills on the same live market already sit in one averaged row, with one combined P&L and one Close for the group.
What happens if you do nothing
If you do not close early, the round settles against open and close on the chart. Those prices come from the Hyperprice index. A winning share pays $1. A losing share pays $0. See Accuracy and Settlement.
